Locally Sourced  Food

We are constantly buying and helping local businesses and organic farmers, with locally sourced produce.

Welcome to Tosnú!

A recent addition to the Galway food scene and the brain child of Aidan Scanlan and Mark Cambell, Tosnú Restaurant is a small establishment on No14 Upper Abbeygate Street. Two vastly experienced chefs, coming together to open a restaurant with the intentions of using mostly locally sourced produce from up the road cheese mongers, locally growing vegetable, to out of town farmers and fish mongers; keeping it as local as possible is the key to our growing success (see our suppliers here.)

Tosnú is an Irish word which means to start or begin, and we take this Irish word to mean new beginnings in the vision we see for our establishment. The word was borrowed from the Ballinasloe art gallery, Tosnú Art Gallery owned by chef Mark Cambells mother where Mark grew up surrounded by art pieces and sculptures.

With a small team, we want our costumers to feel welcome and comfortable, to be spoiled with the best, locally roasted coffee and seasonally sourced food. Changing our menus with the seasons and staying up-to-date with trends and contemporary cooking, we will aim to provide the best dining experience for our costumers, new and returning.
